BOOK REVIEW // SIMPLICIOUS - SARAH WILSON

Following on from her bestselling book 'I Quit Sugar,' Aussie blogger Sarah Wilson's third installment in her quest to make us all quit the white stuff, 'Simplicious', is a huge chunk of a hardback offering up 306 wholesome, sugar-free recipes that are sure to inspire some New Year healthy eating.

It's packed full of great food ideas and because of Wilson's "no food waste" ethos, she gives great hints and tips about using up leftovers, using your freezer as a store cupboard and using as much seasonal produce as possible.

Best of all are her amazingly quick and simple 'one-pot wonders' and slow cooker recipes including a cheap as chips beef stew; slow cooked ham hocks and peas; and slow cooked chicken with apple cider sauce.

As well as a real treasure trove for recipes 'Simplicious' is also a great resource for anyone trying to be more organised with their cooking.  There are loads of ideas for some sensible weekly food preparation including cooking up a joint of meat and par-cooking vegetables for the freezer once a week or so, that seem like a decent way to bash out some quick ad healthy midweek suppers - something us Mum's will be all too pleased of.

This books is certainly one to check out if you are trying to feed yourself (and your family) healthy and reasonable priced food.  It's no nonsense, down to earth and above all packed with super tasty recipes.  I got mine at Asda for £10 - total bargain.
