My selection of beauty 'must-haves' for gloomy January days (and nights). xX
1. Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins: My skin is taking a battering at the moment with cold sea wids drying my face when I walk my wee dog Poppy. I find Night-A-Mins the best thing to rehydrate. It is thick texture soaks right in to my dry cheeks & it contains bitter orange and vitamins C, E & H to brighten & detoxify.
2. Daisy by Marc Jacobs: this may sound a bit daft, in fact it is, but just looking at this perfume makes me feel better about yet another drab January day - and the fact that my cold has made me look like Rudolph (the reindeer, not Valentino). Obviously it makes me smell pretty awesome too - I love it's freshness & ever so subtle sweetness which is perfect for everyday wear.
3. Carmex Lip Balm: I have used this probably every winter since I was 16. I've tried others but this seriously packs some protective clout to wind-chapped lips and I bought cherry flavour by mistake this time which tastes pretty sweet - just call me Katy Perry. It contains the active ingredient urea which locks water into the skin. And it's cheap as chips!
4. Olbas Oil: talk about the least glamorous thing in the world and the obsolute antithesis of smelling good re product #1! But it's my list, my rules so I'm sticking with it. So there! I seriously could not get through the month without this.
5. Garnier Ultra Lift Firming Eye Cream: I was skeptical about this when I first bought it but this a great eye cream for cold weather. It doesn't clog the area but gently firms and hydrates. It makes a fantastic base for make-up and I really notice a different in the firmness of my eye area when I use it.
What are your winter beauty 'must-haves.'
