I was a bit cheeky when it came to reviewing this product, I must
confess. I was staying with my sister last weekend and when I spied
this beauty in her bathroom I felt compelled to try it immedately. I have been conveting Le Labo products online for ages and have been completely reeled in by their utilitarian branding and unique frangrances. I was, however, also a little wary that my entusiam had been stoked not by the promise of a wonderful product but rather how the bottles would look in my bathroom. How fickle of me!
When I first poured the shower gel out of the beautifully packaged 237ml bottle, however, the first thing I noticed was the texture of it. It has to be one of the thickest products I have ever used - seriously - and even a five-pence-sized blob of product on a sponge does a full body and would probably go further. It will last for ages and that alone, I think, makes it a winner; I get so sick of buying drugstore shower products only for them to last a week or two! It gets my goat to say the least but - ah - not so with Le Labo!
The scent is amazing too although, not strong or overpowering so, if you like heavily scented products this isn't for you. Instead it is delightfully fresh and light with hints of bitter orange, grapefruit as well as bergmot which alongside extracts of olive leaf extract and aloe vera mean that it is bursting with skin conditoning properties. It made my skin feel beautiful and even before applying my body lotion my skin felt comfortable and moisturised.
So what of Le Labo Bergamote 22 Shower Gel? There is no doubt it is a beautiful product but yes, it's expensive. At £32-00 a bottle it is out of most people's cosmetics budget - including mine - but if I had a voucher to spend or just really wanted to treat myself I woud love for this to be an addition to my bathroom shelf.
