BEAUTY REVIEW // AESOP REVERENCE AROMATIQUE HAND BALM

AESOP REVERENCE AROMATIQUE HAND BALM

I was such a lucky girl last weekend - my family surprised me by coming over to see me for my 30th birthday and I was lavished - quite literally - with some amazing beauty goodies!

One product I was particularly excited about (thanks Sis!) was Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm that I had wanted in my toilet bag for ages.  I have a bit of a love for the whole Aesop brand if I am honest.  Something about it feeds my passion for simple, quality products packed with natural active extracts.  I love how it looks too and I have been so pleased that the scent, texture and the effectiveness of the product have more than lived up to its kick ass packaging.

So what's so good about this seemingly simple Hand Balm? Well for one thing it smells divine!  It's highly scented - so not one for those who prefer low or no fragrance - with a real earthy, green scent that lasts for ages and instantly revives flagging energy levels or jangling nerves.  I love to, once I have rubbed a small amount in, sit for a moment and inhale the wonderful benefits of the Bergamot, Bitter Orange and Vetiver essential oils renowed for their grounding, calming properties.  These oils are also hugely beneficial for inflamed and sensitive skins making it ideal for chapped, hardworking hands.

As a winter skincare staple I would really recommend this product.  I love the protection it has given my hands now that the colder weather has appeared and my rather beleagured hands already look better after only a weeks use!  Its packed full of shea butter, coconut oil and sweet almond oil and sinks into the skin with absolutely no greasiness leaving instead an almost matte finish which I really love.  It also contains lactic acid, a useful little alphahydroxy acid that gently exfoliates the skins thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  An absolute winner!

Have you tried any Aesop products yet?  I'd love some recommendations!
