We were so lucky this year when Santa gifted some beautiful Grapat Mandalas (pictured) to our eldest girl. I had been eyeing them for years and although they were greeted initially with a sense of - what do I do with those, they have already been used for maths practice, counting, pattern making and sorting.
Made from sustainably sourced wood they are really beautiful tactile things that not only feel wonderful in your hand but are also full of potential for open ended play.
