Book Review: The Pumpkin Spice Café – A Cozy Autumn Delight

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you're looking for a book to get you in the autumnal mood - to snuggle up with with your favorite blanket, an open fire and a warm cup of coffee, The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore is just what you need.

Standing at the turning point of summer and autumn always, in my mind, feels like the start of a new year. The children, with their shiny shoes and new stationery, look out towards the anticipation of a new school term and I, inevitably, look forward to small snippets of the day where, free from the requests of small children, I get more time to read.  This autumns first book was the delightful, TikTok sensation, The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore, the first of a six part series.

Set in the charming, small-town of Dream Harbor, New England, the story follows new-comer Jeanie who has just inherited her aunt's café.  What she soon discovers is her coffee shop is the hub of a community of quirky residents who love not only small-town gossip but to look after their own.  When the local farmer, Logan appears Jeanie find herself wrapped up, not just in cinnamon-scented lattes and seasonal roasts, but also at the centre of towns newsmill.

Effortlessly readable  The Pumpkin Spice Café is light, comforting, and filled with the kind of everyday magic that makes you instantly escape to picture perfect world. It's not overly dramatic or complex, and that’s what I enjoyed about it —it’s a low-stakes, low stress, feel-good story that’s perfect for those days when you are looking to take 20 minutes to unwind.

Whether you’re a seasoned romance reader or just looking for something uplifting to get into the autumn spirit, The Pumpkin Spice Café delivers the perfect blend of warmth, whimsy, and a touch of seasonal magic.

Book 1 of 6 in the Dream Harbour series.
