I got the fabulous Forgotten Fairytales of Brave and Brilliant Girls a few months ago and I have to say I just love it!! With two small girls in the house, I've always been keen to give them a strong sense of self and self worth from a young age and challenge the gender stereotypes that are still bandied about as a part of the norm.
With stories based on ancient European folk tales including The Daring Princess, The Sleeping Prince, Clever Molly and Fearless Fiona, each story is filled with magic, myth and adventure as well as strong, capable girls who inevitably save the day.
This book celebrates female power in a really accessible way in a series of tales with brave and brilliant girls at its heart. We love it!
