Our nearly 7 and 5 year old have been having a real rip-roaring laugh at the utterly fabulous, There's a Snake in my School by David Walliams this week after grabbing a copy from the library.
We had already really enjoyed the audio version at bedtime but the visual presence of this book brought about by Tony Ross's illustrations make the hard copy an absolute joy!
When the school announces a 'Bring Your Pet to School Day,' they get more than they bargained for when the deliciously flamboyant Miranda brings her pet Python, Penelope along. The children think she is fabulous but the headteacher, Miss Bloat, has other views swiftly confiscating her and stuffing her in a dustbin!
What will happen to poor Penelope, and what, will become of poor Miss Bloat?
Laughs a plenty to be had here as well as a nod to the joys of being just a little bit different! Recommended!
